Over 100 biotechnology companies, 5 internationally renowned medical schools, 1300 biomedical researchers in 28 universities, the largest financial centre in Europe, over 50 clinical research centres, the London Stock Exchange and the HQ's of Pharma, key regulators and industry bodies make London one of the most significant locations for biotechnology in the world.
London Biotechnology Network
London Biotechnology Network (LBN) was established by London First in June 2000, providing the first co-ordinated approach to biotechnology in London. With over 2000 members from 800 organisations, LBN is now one of the largest biotechnology networks in Europe. Membership is not limited to London-based companies, but encompasses all organisations with an interest in London's emerging biotechnology sector and doing business in, with or through London
LBN Career Track
Launched in March 2007, Career Track is aimed at nurturing the enormous labour pool arising from the 39,000 life science graduates and PhDs trained every year in London. The initiative will:address skills gaps identified by employers, hurdles faced by those seeking employment, enhance the Academia-Industry interface, encourage business creation and growth and work with London’s diversity for maximal benefit to stakeholders.
